Spreading Love Abroad- Missions Trip to Jamaica

Every year we rally together for a cause to champion during our Annual Community Service Project. One year we collected women’s unused undergarments in support of those victimized by rape. Another year we volunteered at a local homeless shelter. In recent years, many came for our highly sought after Poetry and Presents Poetry Event to raise money for a local women’s shelter during the Christmas holiday.

This year will be no different. For 2014 we are spreading BOND’s
love beyond our borders in support of a mission’s trip to Petersfield, Jamaica. We are asking for your support in collecting personal care items (list found below). Our BOND Member Rachel, whose heading up the mission trip, shared with me the very things that are so easily at our disposal and often take for granted are considered luxury items for many in Jamaica. Items such as soap, shampoo, dental floss or even hand sanitizers are such coveted items and are costly to purchase in Jamaica. So as you can imagine, they desperately need our help.

I know we can rally together to collect these items. I’m requesting that you ask friends, co-workers, neighbors, local church and/or associates, to aide in our efforts. Below are the items we are seeking to collect. Our goal is collect 500 for each item. What’s your personal goal? Any amount is alright with us. Do we have your support?

Survey Says... Discipline Not Deprivation Highlights.

The Atmosphere-Was warm, inviting, eye opening, exciting, comfortable, relaxed, informative, fun, uplifting, revealing and inspirational. We laughed, we shared, we questioned and because of our guest speaker, Dr. James we truly understood.

Our Speaker- She’s sharp, she’s witty, she’s comical, she’s warm, she’s sweet, she’s resourceful, and genuine. Bottom line the girl’s just downright powerful. Dr. James made such a delicate topic on finances so easy to understand. Her passion for empowering others on finances radiated throughout the room.

While the topic was on practical ways to save, Dr. James was so very giving and forthcoming. She shared so much that our queens (as she calls us) left full- fully empowered, inspired and eager to see a change in their financial future.

We thank Dr. James, the Money Scientist for gracing us with her presence.  Dr. James has agreed to come back for Part II so stay tuned for the details.
I highly encourage you to get your financial future on track and if there’s anyone I would highly recommend you seek out to help you get there it would be Dr. James. She’ll take great care of you. Tell her BOND Inc sent you.  info@pocketofmoney.com, 443-304-8896, www.pocketofmoney.com, www.twitter.com/UrPocketofMoney

Scars & Acne Go Away Come Back Some Other Day

Scars and acne most certainly need to go away. As a matter of fact forget coming back some other day. How about just not coming back at all. Do you have acne or scarring issues that you've been wanting to get rid of? Here's a remedy that you should try out so you can witness some amazing results.

If you're like me with skin that has a mind of its own. One day your skin acts right and then a few weeks later you feel like running somewhere to hide. My skin tends to break out and takes its worst toll the most during that dreaded time of the month.

So here's the routine:
Wash your face twice a day with a mixture of African Black soap and baking soda. Lather it in your hands and then apply the mixture to your face. I personally use the Dudu- Osun brand. My skin just adores it and although it looks pretty creepy it smells heavenly. I often use a face brush to get deep down.

Then rinse it completely off and pat your face dry.

With a cotton ball or cotton pad apply an astringent. I personally use a few drops of natural lemon juice in the mornings. As for my night routine, I use a mix of tea tree oil and witch hazel.

Followed that up with applying your favorite moisturizer along with 2-3 drops of grapeseed or vitamin E oil.

For at least twice a week use your favorite face mask. I personally use Queen Helen Peppermint Mask or a homemade Bentonite Clay Mask by Aztec Secret Indian Healing.

Added Bonus: Another great tip I received from a professional esthetician was to pick one day out of the week to use an at home face steamer. She said that you only need 5 minutes to do it. After the five minutes splash your face with cold water to close up your pores. You're skin will love you for it and after keeping up with this routine for awhile you'll notice the changes in your skin.

Try it out and tell me how it works for you. It has worked wonders for my skin and it didn’t take long for me to notice great results. However you must stick with it. Nothing works overnight it takes some time for your skin to get use to the routine.

Disclaimer: Granted everything isn’t for everybody. I’ve personally stopped and started this method  but have always noticed the best results when using this particular one.

Until Next Time
