BOND Career Fair Planning Committee Meeting
Tuesday, July 14, 7pm-8pm


This is the first planning meeting for the upcoming BOND Career Expo scheduled for October 10th or 17th, 9a-3p. Date will depend on location secured. The BOND Career Expo will offer women an opportunity to learn about and join BOND, participate in career related mini workshops, get their resume reviewed, get suited with professional attire, meet prospective employers, shop with vendors and network with other professionals.
The Planning Committee, chaired by our Board Member Rachel Dolcine, will be responsible for planning, implementing and hosting all aspects of the BOND Career Expo.

BOND Volunteer Orientation
Thursday, July 16, 7pm


All BOND Members are required to attend at least one virtual volunteer/membership orientation. Even if you are unable to volunteer right now we are requesting that you still attend because there is information that we will discuss on your role and benefits of being a BOND Member. We will issue your BOND Card so you can begin reaping the benefits after you've completed the online orientation. If you can't make it this month- we will host the orientation once a quarter. We'll provide you the other dates soon. The orientation is online and you must sign up to receive the link. There is no need to travel anywhere and it will last for just an hour. Come prepared with any questions you may have.

Cooking for a Cause
My Sister's Place Lodge

BOND will be showing some love to the homeless women housed at My Sister's Place Lodge.  We are still in need of 6-7 volunteers to assist with cooking, serving and cleaning up.  Panelist Needed for September Event (3 slots available)

Many of come forward to participate as a panelist for our September Gathering. We still have a 3 more slots open for panelist interested in being a part of our September Gathering discussion platform. The evening will consist of an open discussion on topics significant to women of color. Such topics include the Angry Black Woman Syndrome, Entrepreneurship, Career, Spirituality, Motherhood, The State of the Black Family, Social Media, Education, Finances and more. If you’re interested in being on the panel please email us with your interest as soon as possible.  We will begin promoting details from our panelist in the coming weeks.

It’s that time of year again!!! Every year we provide our members, BOND supporters and Gathering goers with the opportunity to vote on a topic for the next BOND Gathering.  

Want to learn more about our BOND Gatherings?  Click here for the details.  For the past 11 years has been hosting Gatherings. Women come as far away as DC, VA and PA to attend these thought-provoking, candid conversations on topics that matter to women of color the most.

July BOND Gathering...The Choice Is Yours!!!

It's that time of year again!!! As you know there are plenty of topics BOND could choose from for our next BOND Gathering. But wouldn’t it be just as nice if you, our most valued supporters pick the topic instead?

Well dolls here’s your opportunity to cast your vote for a topic to discuss for our July BOND Gathering. For those of you who just how we get down at our BOND Gatherings know how exciting and live the evening can be.

 

Here is a brief synopsis for each topic to get you started... 

Battle of the Sexes- Game Night with the Men- After a long work week; we are ready to let our hair down? This will be the first time in BOND history where we include the men in with our infamous BOND Girl Game Night!!! Join us for a night of laughter, fun, food and fellowship. Card games, Board/ Group games, raffles and so much more. A good time will defiantly be had for sure! We guarantee. (Men are invited to attend)

Clothing/Accessory Swap- Do you have any items in your closet that you no longer care to wear? How about accessories that just don't seem to fit your style any longer?  You don't want to just give them away...or do you? Well why not try your hand at the "BOND Girl Swap Night". Bring in any of your new or gentle used items and swap it out with something that's more to your liking. We promise you won't go home empty handed.

Setting Boundaries- The kids, the boss, the boo...everybody is pulling at you needing your undivided attention. Even the pets are demanding some of your time.  But how do you learn to say "no", "not now" or "maybe later" without feeling so guilty?  Learn ways to happily set boundaries and stick to them.

Finances- Do you find yourself constantly robbing Peter to pay Paul? Is your money spent before payday even arrives? Do you find  it almost impossible to have enough money to pay yourself first? Do you want to learn more on ways to save  and/or invest? Then this is the Gathering for you.

Conflict Resolution- Learn tips and tricks on how to fight fair. Learn when its best to "hold them", "fold them" or just walk away.   

Married Life vs. Single Life- From the outside looking in that "life" isn't as easy as the other side thinks. This is one of our repeat topics but one that always creates a lot of stir. Married women long for a day all to themselves while single women long for that day where they can share that white picket fence with that special someone. Let’s discuss the real deal about single vs. married life because you might just be surprised.
 

His Needs/Her Needs- Do you know what the top five needs of most men and women are?  Learn what your primary love language is. I bet you'd be surprised  to know that they are very different. Why not hear from the men themselves.  (Men are invited to attend)

Topics Explained

Internal Battle- Everyone has an internal battle going inside but how do you deal with it? Learn how to find peace.

Struggling- Many of us are tired of struggling. Whether its with your finances, forgiving or dealing with a nasty co-worker on your job there are some things that we all want to let go of but just haven't mastered the art of letting it go.

Married Life/ Single Life- The life isn't as easy as it looks. A repeat topic but one that always creates a lot of stir. Married women long for a day all to themselves where they don’t have to worry about anyone but themselves while single women long for that day where they can share that white picket fence with someone special. Let’s discuss the real deal about single and married life because you might just be surprised.

Knowing God Intimately- Want to have a closer walk with God. Learn how to develop a personal relationship with God.

Dirty Little Secret- Are there some things that you just need to get off your chest? Can’t hold this "thing" in any longer? Well here’s your opportunity to let it all hang out.

Game Night- After a long work week; we are ready to let our hair down?  Join us for a night of laughter, fun, food and fellowship. Card games, Board/ Group games, karaoke and so much more. A good time will defiantly be had! We guarantee.

Impromptu- Free for all on any topic we choose the day of.

Other -Recommend a topic
