Minding Your Own Business Gathering
Did you hear about our March Gathering “Minding Your Own Business” with guest speaker Rachel Dolcine of Compass Consulting and Training Solutions? A very interactive and engaging gathering for women who have dreamed of starting her own business or nonprofit organization but don’t know where to begin or for a variety of reasons haven’t been able to jumpstart it. This Gathering is also for those women who currently operate a business but want solutions on how to move their business to the next level. This is also a great space for networking too. So you gotta be there.

The Lost Art of Wise Counsel Gathering for Women
BOND Inc will be hosting a special BOND Gathering. Which will include a open panel discussion and Speed Mentoring May 16. We will be focusing on a broad range of topics and subject areas important to women of color (career, finances, marriage, child-rearing, relationships, health etc)
This month's Gathering will be free of charge. However it will be on a first come first served basis. RSVP in advance.

Speed Mentoring is a new concept that follows a similar format to speed dating. This format allows for quick-hit information from another professional to help solve a pressing need and targeted networking with the goal of finding a potential mentor.

Community Service is a major proponent for BOND Inc. Annually we choose a community service project to support. This year we will be collecting personal care items for an upcoming mission to trip to Jamaica. We are asking for your full support in this huge undertaking. BOND Inc 2014 Winter Edition Newsletter
Each
month I’m committing to trying something new.
Nothing huge, just some small ideas I’ve been putting off for a long
time. Like taking a photography class, going on a real vacation or trying a new
dish. Simple stuff like that. Please
understand though, there is a method to my madness. First, I pray before I do
anything; second, it must be an activity that I’m going to enjoy; and lastly,
the activity must have a lesson attached to it.
I’m super excited about my “laid out plans “and I’m currently praying
about February’s plan. I’m really considering blogging about my 2014 ‘Laid Out Plans’.

Fun In the Sun Anyone & Other BOND Inc News
Boy Did You Miss It
We had such an amazing time at the BOND Girl Game Night. We laughed, we played, we ate and danced, and we BONDed. It was great to be in the company of familiar friends but it was just as special to be in the space with women who too needed a night of pure fun and games. Thank you to all those who came out and even to those who wanted to come but for whatever reason were unable to.

A special shout out to The COSL (Circle of Self Love) Club. If the truth be told the COSL Girls really stole the show with their famous dance routines. They were so pleasant and we made sure they felt right at home. It felt as if we’ve known them for quite awhile.

Calling All Poets & Spoken Word Performers
There are two amazing projects coming up for poets, spoken word performers and fiction writers that you don’t want to pass up. The Making It Happen (MIH) Group LLC will be having a live Poetry & Literary Prose Performance Event coming up October 20th in Columbia, MD. MIH will be showcasing Baltimore-Washington Metro’s best poets and literary talents at 730PM. Tickets are just $25 which includes refreshments. The 2nd Annual Poetry & Presents Is Back!!!
My, my, my…BOND Inc is hosting our 2nd Annual Poetry & Presents Event again this year. Last year’s event was a major success and we don’t expect anything less than the best for this year. (click here to see what you missed last year)
This year we’re looking to include a live neo- soul band. Cross your fingers because we’re working on it. Last time there were poet’s representing DC, MD, VA, DE, PA, NY & NJ. We’ve already began receiving responses from poets who were interested in being apart as far away as Utah. Yes you read that right Utah. We are seeking poets & spoken word artist to bless the mic during this huge event. If you know of any talented poets that would love to be apart have them email us at iambondinc@gmail.com for more details. We highly recommend that they contact us sooner than later because spots will go fast. (Click here for details)
Last year we had a full house and this year we don’t expect anything less. We were so overcrowded that we have to move to a larger venue for this year’s Poetry & Presents. We’re looking high and low to find a location that will accommodate the large number anticipated. So if you know of any venues please pass them us at iambondinc@gmail.com. We’d greatly appreciate it.
Florida Here We Come Trip 2013 Update
So we’ve finally decided on a date and city. We chose….
TAMPA on May 17-19 (click here for more details)
The planning for Tampa has been underway for some time now. We have a great team of women from different parts of the U.S. taking part in the planning. Wait until you see the hotel we’ll be staying in. Leave your husbands, boyfriends, boos and kids home and call your girlfriends, sister friends, co-workers, or whoever you’ll think loves having a good time. We’re leaving no stone unturned and quite honestly we have so many great things in store for our guest. This trip will be a great way to connect with women from all over the US. It’s more than just a trip, this is a MOVEMENT.
Expect shopping, dining, entertainment, pampering, a meet and greet and the list goes on. We believe in having a great time without breaking the bank so start saving your money now because space will fill up fast. GroupMe Messaging
GroupMe is a cool mobile app that allows you to stay in touch instantly and efficiently with the masses. We plan to use this tool to send out mass messages reminding everyone of our upcoming events/gatherings, share important news, cancellation, directions and a host of other useful information deemed necessary. Responsible for providing guidance and leadership to the organization in order to stay focused, thriving and achieving positive results
Birthday Club & Special Events Committee (BSEC)
Responsible for coordination of BOND member birthdays and BOND’s related events
Business/Organization Partnership Committee (BPC)
Responsible for establishing a clear line of communication between BOND
and selected and potential partnerships
Fundraising Committee (FC)
Responsible
for raising funds in order to support and maintain
organization’s mission and community outreach initiatives
Historian Committee (HC)
Responsible for preparing and
regularly publishing quarterly newsletters in order to keep members and
