Vee is the owner and chief operator of Dimeonadime.com, a fashion and beauty blog, designed to make beauty on a budget look good. The intent of her blog is to share and help women of all colors, ages and economical backgrounds to develop their outer beauty while embracing their inner beauty. Contrary to what people may believe, she does not get paid to blog. It is something that she does by choice. She does it outside of her 40 hour/week day job. It is very time consuming and adds an additional 30 to 40 hours of work to her already hectic schedule. She does it simply because she loves it! She loves the interaction, the comradely amongst women, and she love having a platform where all women feel comfortable to voice their opinions.
My Greatest Accomplishment to Date:
Outside of being a mother, my greatest accomplishment would have to be encouraging others to formulate their goals and work avidly at achieving them. When I receive an email from a viewer of my blog, thanking me for encouragement and/or coaching them toward their dreams, it is incredibly fulfilling. I just want to reach out and give them a big hug!
My Most Challenging Thing I Ever Experienced:
One of the most challenging things I have ever experienced is being a young single mother. I had my first daughter when I was 17 and my second when I was 20. I didn’t allow this challenge to prevent me from being a great mother/provider for my daughters or a successful person in society. My daughters watched their young mother move forward and confident in life, instilling values in them that were instilled in me. Even as a child myself, I took my motherhood responsibilities very seriously. I vowed to my children and to myself that I would never abandon them or allow them to be named as hopeless statistics. Today, my oldest daughter is in her first year of college and my youngest is right behind her. I can be a little chatty when it comes to my girls, so I’ll stop now or this will turn into a novel!
Most Valuable Lesson:
Most valuable lesson in life would have to be understanding that it is never too late! No matter who or what you were or are, there is always so much more you can be. I believe that with all my heart.
Final Remarks:
To anyone that may be reading this, I hope that you are able to disseminate the message throughout all of this; that message being, whatever positive thing you want to do in life, do it! Just start it and never look back. No excuses! When you take control of what you want in life, even the chaos is mildly organized. Until we meet again, I wish you all love and blessings!
